With the onset of summer, hot weather poses a serious challenge to the operation and performance of mixer trucks. In order to ensure that the mixer truck in the hot summer to maintain efficient operation and lasting performance, we hereby organize a series of professional maintenance recommendations for the majority of drivers and fleet managers to refer to.

Scientific utilization of additives

In the construction process, the scientific and reasonable use of additives is an effective means to regulate the performance of concrete and reduce the burden on the mixer truck. For example, the use of water reducing agent can significantly reduce the amount of cement, while the alternative use of fly ash can further optimize the concrete ratio. For long-distance transportation needs, by adding the appropriate amount of retarder to control the setting time of the concrete, but need to pay attention to the precise control of the mixing amount of retarder to ensure the stability of concrete performance.

Strictly monitor the engine status

As the core component of the mixer truck, the engine's operating status is directly related to the performance and reliability of the whole truck. Under the high temperature condition in summer, special attention should be paid to prevent the engine from overloading. Drivers need to pay close attention to the water temperature meter changes, once the water temperature is found to be abnormally high, it should be immediately parked in a safe place, let the engine idle and lift the hood for heat dissipation. At the same time, it is recommended that the engine cooling system on a regular basis to carry out a comprehensive inspection and maintenance, including water tanks, thermostats, water pumps, fans and other parts of the cleaning and maintenance to ensure the normal operation of the cooling system.

Careful maintenance of battery performance

Summer heat accelerates the evaporation of water in the battery electrolyte, resulting in a decline in battery performance. Therefore, the liquid level in the battery should be checked regularly, and timely replenishment of distilled water to maintain the normal concentration of electrolyte. In addition, we also need to pay attention to check whether the battery pile head is loose or corrosion, to ensure that the battery connection line is tight and good conductivity.

Pay close attention to the tire condition

As the only point of contact between the mixer truck and the ground, the condition of the tires directly affects the safety and stability of the vehicle. In the summer heat conditions, tire pressure monitoring is particularly important. It is recommended to check the tire pressure at least once every half a month and adjust it according to the actual situation. At the same time, drivers need to avoid long hours of continuous driving to reduce tire temperature and wear. Before wading in the water, the tire temperature should be properly reduced before proceeding, in order to prevent tire damage due to overheating.

Comprehensively check the instrumentation and electrical system

High temperature in summer easily lead to machine overheating, abnormal operation of parts. Therefore, should strengthen the engine cooling system, electrical system and the comprehensive inspection and maintenance of the instrumentation. Including checking the motor, electrical appliances, overheating, rattling phenomenon; check whether the instrumentation instructions are normal; regular cleaning of the air filter, intake piping; replacement of oil filter and so on. In addition, special attention should be paid to the mixer truck tank cleaning and maintenance, to ensure that the tank inside and outside the clean dirt, no concrete residue.

Strengthen the tank cleaning and maintenance

Mixer truck tank cleaning and maintenance is to ensure its normal operation and extend the service life of the key. Before and after each loading, the inlet and outlet should be cleaned; after unloading, rinse the residual concrete in the tank with water; and release the sewage before the next loading. After the work is finished, the concrete storage tank and the area around the inlet and outlet should be thoroughly cleaned to prevent cement and concrete from caking.

Summer is a critical period for mixer truck operation and maintenance. Through the implementation of the above professional maintenance recommendations, the attendance and operational efficiency of the mixer truck in summer can be effectively improved.
